There was snow on the Shropshire Hills when competitors arrived at The Craven Arms for The Clee Hills Trial. It was treacherous driving over The Long Mynd. the sections were very slippery and two of them had to be cancelled. But all in all competitors enjoyed the Clee Hills.

Some pictures taken on Phils Folly. They will enlarge if you click on them. If you would like a High resolution version e-mail Michael.

Jeff Buchanan driving through the snow. He and David Bowlas became stuck on the hairpin and the section had to be cancelled for the lower classes.

Jeff and David were rescued with help from the farmer his family and their machinery. They then went and fetched a JCB.

The farmer set to work removing about six inches of mud down to the stone base of the old road.

Ian Davis was the first car to arrive in the afternoon and stormed up for a clean.

Paul Bartleman didn't have any trouble either.

Dave Foreshew's car wasn't running properly and he stalled at the two marker.

David Bache got his line just right in his Dellow.

Dudley Sterry and Barry Clarke were masters of the slippery conditions.

Mick Workman had no trouble in the GVS

Rob Wells was very cautious in his new Troll and eased gently round the hairpin before blasting up the gradient.

Stuart Ridge got his line all wrong and couldn't get round properly despite the tight turning circle of his flyweight.

Stuart Harrold and Chris Phillips had no problem with the section but had a nasty on the exit road.

Tony Young was another to have problems on the exit road.

When Andrew Martin slipped sideways into the barbed wire on the section the section was stopped as the officials thought things were getting to hairy.
